Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development
Imri Demelezi was born on 1985, in Viti. He completed his preuniversity studies in Slatinë të Poshtme and Pozheran in Viti.
He completed his undergraduate studies in Agroeconomics, at the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, University of Prishtina. Furthermore, he completed his postgraduate Master studies in "Sustainable Development of Agricultural and Rural Areas in Adriatic and Ioanian Basin", at the Facolta di Agraria, University of Bologna, in Bologna, Italy. Other master postgraduate specializing studies in "Organic Mediterranean Agriculture", at CIHEAM, IAMB, Bari, Italy.
He is PhD candidate, for Transdisciplinary and systems research, at the Department of Sustainable Agricultural Systems, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna, Austria.
He is honoured in various competitive scholarships for his postgraduate studies, from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for master studies, from ADA (via OeAD) and MEST, for doctoral studies, and from CEEPUS for scientific research and honoured as "Young Scientist" from "Right Livelihood" College, Bonn, Germany.
He was Deputy Minister in the MAFRD in the Government of Kurti I and now in the Government Kurti II, he continues the position as Deputy Minister.
Imriu has been teaching assistant at the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, University of Prishtina, during the 2010 - 2012. He has been PhD researcher in the Department of Sustainable Agricultural Systems at BOKU, Vienna, Austria, since 2013.
Since 2017, he Lecturer at UBT College, during government periods he has suspended his engagement as a lecturer, for the position entrusted to him, as a political appointee.
He graduated from the School of Politics, organized by PIPS and the Council of Europe, School of Political Studies. He is an activist of Lëvizja Vetëvendosje! (LVV), formally from 2012, he was part of the subcommittee for agriculture in Viti, then one of the founders of the working group of LVV in Vienna and now coordinator of the National committee for Agriculture in LVV.
Imri was deputy candidate, for LVV! in the parliamentary elections of October 6, 2019.
He has good knowledge of the sector from perspectives of practitioners, researchers, lecturer, policymaker and now as of the decision maker.
