The execution continues for subsidies in the amount of 5.5 million euro

Prishtina, 14 August 2018 – The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development through the Agriculture Development Agency continued to execute direct payments for beneficiaries under the Direct Payments Program for 2018, particularly the second list prepared after the controls are made in the field.    

Direct payments have started to be executed for 4,866 beneficiary farmers of the payments for planted areas with wheat, wheat seed, rye, barley, vineyards, and sunflower as well as for fruits and vegetables, in the amount of 3,627,856.66 euro.

In addition to this, the payments are in the process of execution and for 2.204 beneficiaries of direct payments for cows, milking buffalos, sheep, goats, bees, hens, sows and partridges in the amount of 1,868,760.00 euro.

Ekrem Gjokaj acting as an Executive Chief of the Agriculture Development Agency said that this Agency during the whole time of the evaluation process has been and will be transparent informing farmers through sms and e - mail decisions, as well as through the ADA’s web site for the results related to the evaluation process. He has shown there has been an increase in the number of applicants and on this occasion the number of beneficiaries this year has been greater than in previous year.     

Otherwise, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development in the program for this year has foreseen the following subsidies: for wheat, wheat seed, maize, barley, rye, sunflower, cows and milking buffalos, sheep and goats, hens, bees, pigs, partridges, for existing orchards, vegetables in open field and in green houses, for existing vineyards, for organic farming, as well as for seedlings of tree fruit and grapevine.    

There is also subsidy for aquaculture, reported slaughterhouses of cattle, for milk according to the quality categories and for officially declared and produced wine.
